Chambers Bay

The story of Chambers Bay Golf Course began around the 1850's when industrial interests including grist-mills and timber activities started to operate. Nearly a century later, industrial use would continue with a fully operational rock quarry gravel mine running full steam. It wasn't until the turn of the millennium would the seeds of a championship caliber golf course be sewn. This Pierce County owned public golf course is a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. design and first opened for play on June 23, 2007. Less than a year later, the course was awarded the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship and the 2015 U.S. Open Championship. This breathtaking par 70 links-style golf course overlooks the Puget Sound and is the first U.S. Open Championship conducted in the Pacific Northwest.
